3 Doors Down’s Singer Brad Arnold Reveals Stage 4 Cancer Diagnosis
Brad Arnold, the lead vocalist of the American rock band 3 Doors Down, announced through a video on the band’s social media platforms that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma. The cancer, which originated in his kidney, has metastasized to his lungs.
Arnold, age 46, explained that he began experiencing health issues and, after medical testing, was informed of the severity of his condition. He noted that despite the diagnosis, he remains calm and is drawing strength from his faith.
“We serve a mighty God, and he can overcome anything. So I have no fear. I really, sincerely am not scared of it at all,” stated Arnold.
He also referred to the band’s 2008 single “It’s Not My Time,” describing it as a personal source of motivation. The band canceled all 2025 tour dates following the announcement.
Clear cell renal cell carcinoma is the most common form of kidney cancer in adults. The National Cancer Institute reports that once this type of cancer reaches stage 4 and spreads to other organs, the five-year survival rate drops to around 10%. Arnold has not disclosed specific treatment plans at this time.
